Cercle Brugge KSV, kortweg Cercle, is een Belgische voetbalclub uit Brugge die uitkomt op het hoogste Belgische niveau, de Eerste Klasse. De thuishaven is het Jan Breydelstadion in Brugge, dat men deelt met “grote broer” Club Brugge.
Cercle heeft een lange geschiedenis vanaf de oprichting in 1899. De grootste successen werden behaald in de vroege jaren van haar bestaan, toen tot 1930 3 keer de landstitel werd veroverd. In de 3 decennia daarna zakte men af naar de derde klasse, tot men in 1961 weer terugkeerde op het hoogste niveau. Tot 2003 pendelde men regelmatig tussen eerste en tweede klasse, maar vanaf 2003 weet het zich op het hoogste niveau te handhaven en wist men in 2010 en 2013 zelfs de finale van de Belgische Beker te halen, welke beide keren helaas verloren werd.
Het eerste elftal van Cercle Brugge komt momenteel uit in de Belgische 1ste Divisie, het tweede niveau (Proximus league).
Cercle Brugge nam 3 keer eerder deel aan ons toernooi. In 2012 werd men 6e, in 2013 3e en vorig jaar verloor men pas in de finale van FK Rad Belgrado.
Cercle Brugge KSV , shortly called Cercle, is a Belgian football club from Bruges which plays at the highest level in Belgium , the First Division. The home port is the Jan Breydel Stadium, that they share with “big brother” Club Brugge.
Cercle has a long history from its foundation in 1899. The greatest successes were achieved in the early years of its existence , then till 1930 they won 3 times the National Leaguq title. In the following three decades they dropped down to the third class, until they returned again in 1961 at the highest level . Until 2003, they shuttled regularly between first and second class, but from 2003 on they played continuous at the highest level and they even reached the final of the Belgian Cup in 2010 en 2013, which they lost unfortunately both times .
The first team of Cercle Brugge plays in the Belgian First Division, the second level (Proximus league).
Cercle Brugge made their debut on our tournament in 2012, as they ended in 6th place, in 2013 they were the number 3 and last year they finally lost the final against FK Rad Beograd.
